YOUR VOICE MATTERS. Get involved however you can. Here are some ways that you can help to protect the arts and humanities.

  1. Call your senators to let them know that this issue is important to you. You can find your senator’s phone number HERE.

When a staff member answers the phone, say that you would like to leave a message for your senator (if it’s an answering machine, leave a message). Speak from the heart or feel free to use this script if it’s helpful:

Hello. My name is _________ and I’m a constituent of Senator _______. I am calling to ask the senator to strongly oppose any measure that seeks to defund, eliminate, or scale back the NEA and the NEH. The arts and humanities are vital to our country and I’m calling on the senator to help to protect them.
  2. Make your own video for Artists Resist. It doesn’t matter if you’re an artist or not. We want to hear from all of you about why art matters to you, to your community, and to our country. Here’s HOW.
  3. Be loud on social media.
  4. Share and retweet your favorite Artist Resist videos with the #ArtistsResist tag. Follow Artists Resist on FACEBOOK and TWITTER for new videos as well as updates about the NEA and NEH.
